Your practice, your pace

One stay. Two ways to make it yours.

Bring a project, a question or the desire to return to your practice. The stay is self-directed: we discuss your needs together, while you remain free in your creative process.

Dance & movement

Move, rehearse, explore.

Join the classes on our weekly timetable and use the studio for independent practice when it is available. Develop choreography, performance or research into movement.

Photography and video projects involving dancers can also be discussed with the team, teachers and participants.

Visual arts & personal projects

Give your ideas room to grow.

Develop drawing, painting, photography, video or other compatible visual-art projects, without needing to take dance classes.

Tell us about your process, materials and space requirements so we can confirm how the Studio can support your work.

Meet your host

An artist-led place, not just a room.

Arnaud Pelissier, founder and artistic director of Le Studio du Faubourg

Arnaud Pelissier

Choreographer, dancer and teacher, Arnaud founded Le Studio du Faubourg as a place for dance, contemporary art and creative exchange. The residency is small-scale and shaped around each artist's practice.

The people and activities you encounter depend on your dates. We confirm the programme with you before you book.

Before you decide

Your questions, answered.

When can I come, and when do classes run?

The residency season runs from 15 October 2026 to 27 June 2027, subject to accommodation and studio availability. Applications are considered throughout the season according to your dates and project.

Regular classes pause during these main holiday periods (dates inclusive):

  • 17 October–1 November 2026
  • 19 December 2026–3 January 2027
  • 20 February–7 March 2027
  • 17 April–2 May 2027

We confirm the actual class timetable, any other closures and your studio access before booking. Self-directed stays can also be discussed during class breaks. French school-holiday calendar.

Is the residency funded? What does €590 cover?

This is a participant-funded stay, not a grant or salaried residency. The €590 launch fee per person covers seven nights of accommodation, studio access under the agreed arrangements and scheduled classes during teaching weeks, except theatre. Travel, meals, materials and any optional services are separate.

After your project and dates have been approved, the booking deposit is €200. The remaining €390 is due no later than 15 days before arrival. A written residency agreement sets out the booking and cancellation conditions.

Will I have a private studio or a guaranteed exhibition?

The dance studio is an active, shared space, not an exclusive private workshop. Independent access is arranged around its classes and scheduled activities. Use of the ground-floor gallery or any presentation of your work must be agreed separately and depends on the exhibition programme. A public exhibition is not automatically included.

Can I photograph or film dancers?

Yes, this can be explored as part of your project. Photography, filming and any collaboration are organised with the teachers and participating dancers, with their agreement. Please tell us what you would like to create before booking.

Do I need a finished project to enquire?

No. Start by telling us a little about your practice, what you would like to work on and your preferred dates. A portfolio or website link is welcome if you have one. We will discuss whether the space and programme are suitable for your needs before you commit.

Let's start with your idea
